A recent initiative at Trinity College Dublin showcases a strong commitment to sustainability, with contributions from various faculty and student teams across departments. Adriele Prina Mello is spearheading the Cold Storage Project as part of the Green Labs Committee, focusing on reducing energy consumption in cold storage rooms. Simon Carroll achieved near-complete Green Lab Certification for the Trinity Centre for Bioengineering, while Cillian Gately is promoting sustainable practices at the NatPro Centre. Other notable efforts include Keith Alden’s energy efficiency projects at TBSI, Jess Leonard’s educational workshops on climate change, and Dymphna Kenny’s sustainable practices audit within Trinity Development & Alumni. Students also played a crucial role in developing a sustainable development module, with themes like climate migration and textile waste. The collective efforts highlight Trinity’s dedication to integrating sustainability into education, research, and community engagement across multiple disciplines.
