In a significant development for the Chattanooga Lookouts’ new home at Erlanger Park, two local boards have approved funding for lighting that exceeds city code regulations. The Chattanooga-Hamilton County sports Authority unanimously agreed on Thursday to increase the stadium‘s maximum construction price by $975,000, covering costs for taller lighting poles required to meet Major League baseball standards. Originally funded entirely by the Lookouts, the lighting expenses will now be shared with the Sports Authority. With the total stadium development projected at $115 million and set to open for the 2026 minor league baseball season, the lighting will enhance field visibility while posing potential challenges for nearby residential units.
