Hanon Systems Secures Third PACE Award for Visible-Light LED Photocatalyst Technology

Hanon Systems, a prominent player in automotive thermal management and a subsidiary of Hankook & Company, has been honored with the 2025 PACE Award, marking its third win and making it the first Korean supplier to achieve this distinction. The award ceremony, held on April 15 in Detroit, recognized Hanon for its groundbreaking visible-light LED photocatalyst technology, designed to enhance HVAC systems by effectively eliminating harmful gases, odors, and microorganisms without generating ozone or electromagnetic waves. External testing showed a remarkable 98.5% virus sterilization rate and a deodorization increase from 35% to 97.5%. This technology, already implemented in Hyundai’s G90, showcases Hanon’s commitment to innovation and well-being in driving experiences, building on its previous accolades for air quality solutions. The PACE Awards celebrate significant advancements in the automotive industry and mark their 30th anniversary this year.
