WiZ, a budget-friendly smart lighting brand, is set to launch its new HDMI Sync Box next month, which will sync with its Wi-Fi LED lights to enhance the viewing experience. Priced at $89.99 for 55-65 inch screens and $109.99 for 75-85 inch screens, this box offers a more affordable alternative to Philips Hue’s $249.99 HDMI Play Box. Unlike camera-based systems, WiZ’s box directly reads signals from video sources, minimizing latency. While it supports HDMI 2.0 and up to 4K HDR video, it has only one HDMI input compared to Hue’s four, requiring manual switching for multiple devices. The Sync Box also features a built-in microphone for syncing lights with music and can be controlled via the WiZ app, voice commands, or its remote. Additionally, it connects to various WiZ lights and is compatible with the Matter smart home standard.
