Renovations at Dietz Memorial stadium in Kingston have been completed, marking a significant $22 million upgrade to the historic venue. Funded in part by a $2.5 million grant from the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative, the renovations include extensive improvements to the grandstands, locker rooms, and athletic facilities, as well as a new track, turf field, and modern amenities like updated concession areas and LED stadium lighting. Governor Kathy Hochul emphasized the project’s role in enhancing community pride and regional opportunities, transforming the stadium into a modern hub for sports and public gatherings while preserving its legacy. With a capacity of 2,000, Dietz Stadium serves as a key venue for local athletics and community events, including being home to the Kingston Stockade football Club. Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger highlighted the revitalization’s potential for benefiting residents for generations to come.
