BusGates is launching a pilot program aimed at enhancing school bus safety by providing complimentary LED stop arm extensions to school districts in recognition of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. These extensions project five feet from the bus, creating a clear visual and physical barrier to deter motorists from illegally passing stopped school buses, which occurs over 43.5 million times annually, according to transportation authorities. This initiative offers a proactive approach, differing from traditional camera enforcement systems, and is cost-effective for schools. Throughout April, participating districts will receive one patented stop arm extension free of charge.
