Blue Lights Takes Top Honors for Best Drama Series at BAFTAs

At the BAFTAs held on Sunday, the BBC drama series Blue Lights clinched the award for Best Drama Series, marking its first BAFTA victory. Set in Belfast, the show follows PSNI officers as they confront paramilitary-related crime and triumphed over nominees like Wolf Hall and Sherwood. Blue Lights has received critical acclaim and high viewership, averaging over four million viewers per episode since its debut in 2023. The series also recently celebrated a win at the Broadcast Awards in London and is currently filming its third season. In contrast, the Belfast-based series Say Nothing failed to secure any awards despite three nominations. Notable performances in Say Nothing, including Lola Petticrew’s portrayal of Dolours Price, were also recognized but did not win.
