The underdog Kangaroos capitalized on pitcher Mason Pike’s struggles, scoring five runs in the first inning and finishing with eight before play was halted. Meanwhile, Shane Johnson of Lake Washington pitched four scoreless innings. The game will resume Saturday morning, giving Puyallup a chance to salvage their WIAA title hopes. In other semifinal action, Eastlake advanced to the Class 4A championship with a narrow victory over Jackson, while Mount Vernon and Kennewick triumphed in their respective 3A semifinals, setting the stage for thrilling title matches ahead.
