New LED System to Illuminate Water Towers in Foley

The Foley City Council has approved the “Light Up the Tanks” initiative, a collaborative project with Riviera Utilities to illuminate the city’s water towers once again. This project will see the installation of energy-efficient LED lights and new electrical infrastructure on two standing water tanks, restoring the visibility of the city’s name and logo after they were previously dimmed during repainting. Mayor Ralph Hellmich noted that the new system will not only enhance nighttime visibility but also reduce energy consumption compared to the old lighting. A third water tank will not be included in the project due to its less visible location. The initiative aims to modernize the city’s infrastructure while celebrating Foley’s identity.
