At the 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards held in New York City, tributes were paid to the legendary news broadcaster Bill Moyers, who passed away shortly before the event. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences honored the evening’s big winners, with MSNBC’s “The Sing Sing Chronicles” awarded Best Documentary and Paramount+’s “We Will Dance Again” recognized as Best Current Affairs Documentary. The event featured comedian Negin Farsad as host and included a lifetime achievement award for documentarian Jon Else. In a poignant moment, NATAS chairman Terry O’Reilly reflected on Moyers’ impactful career, highlighting his transition from politics to journalism. This year’s awards celebrated 2,200 submissions, with CBS leading in the news categories.
