Local Sports Clubs Receive $24 Million Injection

The Allan Labor Government is set to enhance regional sports facilities across Victoria, announcing a $24 million investment through the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF) for 41 new projects. During a visit to Kinglake Memorial Reserve Oval, Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence revealed that funding will support initiatives including improved women and girls’ change rooms, sports courts, and fields. Significant allocations include $3 million for upgrades to the Maryborough Municipal Olympic Swimming Pool and $875,000 for improvements at Kinglake Memorial Reserve. The RCSIF supports over 67 infrastructure projects aimed at increasing participation—which has risen by 43% in the past two years—and bolstering local economies by creating more than 1,170 jobs. The Victorian Budget 2025/26 also earmarks $20 million for continued sports infrastructure improvements. Spence emphasized the importance of accessible, high-quality facilities in strengthening community engagement in sports.
