Italian lighting company Maxima has officially launched the Rapida, a compact and efficient battery-first LED light boasting an impressive output of 23,000 lux while consuming minimal power. Weighing just 1.8 kg and measuring 31 cm, the Rapida features an all-weather IP55 rating, making it suitable for various environments. It is compatible with Bowens-S lighting modifiers and Profoto mounts via an adapter, designed primarily for photographers and videographers in wedding, street, fashion, and documentary work. This innovative light can be powered by V-mount batteries from 14 to 28 volts or via an integrated driver, ensuring high performance whether in a studio or on-location. Additionally, the Rapida aims for sustainability with its patented thermal management system designed to maximize battery run time and reduce environmental impact. Pricing and availability details have yet to be announced, but Maxima states it will be their most affordable fixture to date.
