Users can easily locate their hometown on the map, which is color-coded to indicate levels of light pollution using the Bortle scale. Rural locations and national parks, such as Oregon’s Crater Lake and Nevada’s Great Basin, often feature clearer night skies. For those on the go, the companion app Meet Star Gazers provides information about nearby stargazing spots with accessibility features. Additionally, Wyoming’s Teton County has gained recognition as the first International Dark Sky Certified county, along with its Jackson Hole Airport being named the world’s first Dark Sky airport.
