Egypt has successfully upgraded the interior lighting systems of the three Giza Pyramids by installing modern, eco-friendly LED technology, in collaboration with the Spanish government, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Spearheaded by the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), this initiative aims to enhance the architectural design visibility within the Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure pyramids, improving the overall visitor experience and promoting cultural tourism in Egypt. Minister Sherif Fathy highlighted the project’s alignment with international heritage preservation standards, while SCA Secretary-General Mohamed Ismail Khaled emphasized the use of “cool” lighting that safeguards the original construction materials. The initiative encompassed all internal corridors and burial chambers, ensuring the preservation of the pyramids’ archaeological integrity while providing a unique visual experience that showcases the precision of ancient Egyptian architecture.
