Apex Greenhouses has inaugurated a cutting-edge research and training facility at its Australian headquarters in Virginia, SA, aimed at supporting local growers. The 1,000sqm facility features advanced technologies such as mechanical cooling, CO2 injection, LED lighting, and sophisticated climate control systems. CEO Folco Faber emphasized the company’s commitment to giving back to the Australian horticultural community, inviting growers to utilize the facility’s resources. In collaboration with Hort Innovation Frontiers, Apex plans a seven-year research and training program, starting with a hands-on Crop Tour and training session focused on data-driven agricultural strategies. The facility will also trial various high-tech crops, including TOBRFV-tolerant tomato varieties and innovative strawberry growing techniques, addressing current industry challenges.
