LED Lighting Company Secures Million Patent Award After Successful Appeal

The Federal Circuit has overturned a $13.9 million patent verdict against Jiaxing Super Lighting Electric Appliance Co. concerning LED tube lamp technology. The court found that a Texas district court erred by barring the defense from presenting crucial evidence and did not thoroughly evaluate the damages expert for Super Lighting. This ruling comes after Judge Alan Albright declared CH Lighting Technology Co. guilty of willfully infringing three of Super Lighting’s patents, which resulted in a doubled damages award. CH Lighting is appealing the decision, citing that its witness was prevented from verifying key evidence related to product sales.
