New Lighting Enhancements at Lakeside Sports Complex Support Emerging Athletes

A $766,000 lighting upgrade at Lakeside sports Complex has been secured through the Play Our Way program, reflecting a commitment to enhance local sports infrastructure in Port Stephens. Facilitated by the Raymond Terrace Roosters with support from the Port Stephens Council, the project aims to improve accessibility for junior sporting clubs by allowing later training sessions and night games. Mayor Leah Anderson emphasized the effective partnership between the Council and community groups, highlighting the potential economic benefits of the upgrade. Roosters President Craig Langdon also praised the smooth grant application process and expressed aspirations for further improvements to the complex to attract larger events and enhance community involvement.
