Orange Beach City Schools are on the verge of a significant milestone with the nearing completion of a $46.1 million athletic complex, set to elevate both local sports and community spirit. The state-of-the-art facility includes a new footballstadium and gymnasium, ready to host its inaugural events later this month. The Makos football team will kick off their first home game at the new Mako Stadium on August 22, followed by the volleyball team’s debut match in the gym on August 28. Both events aim to unite students and residents in celebration before the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for September 4, 2025. With features designed for performance and safety, this complex represents one of the largest investments in the history of Orange Beach City Schools, ensuring a bright future for athletes and the community.
