EastCann, a licensed cannabis producer in Nova Scotia, has expanded its operations by acquiring AtlantiCann Medical Inc. (AMI) in Sackville, despite many facilities in the region struggling. Cultivation Director Sean MacDougall emphasizes their focus on facilities in good condition, aligning with the company’s culture-driven ethos. Upon acquiring AMI, they discovered outdated lighting systems; thus, an upgrade to advanced LED technology was initiated, replacing older setups with Fluence LED solutions. This transition has already yielded notable increases in production and plant robustness, while also enhancing profitability by reducing energy costs. With a commitment to high-quality medical-grade cannabis, EastCann aims to maintain consistent output while embracing the evolving cannabis market. The project’s success is attributed not only to improved technology but also to dependable service from Fluence, which has been crucial in their continued growth.
