The Ceres Youth baseball community is set to see an upgrade at the George Costa Baseball Complex, as a contractor is slated to install new lighting. During a recent Ceres City Council meeting, a $69,546 grant from the Turlock Irrigation District was approved to support the $178,708 contract with Access Electric, Inc., a local contractor. The new energy-efficient LED lights will replace outdated Metal Halide fixtures, improving field visibility, player safety, and reducing both energy use and maintenance costs. The installation, which will take about two weeks and is expected to be completed by October, will utilize existing poles, with L2 Lighting supplying the equipment. The city is responsible for the remaining $109,162, funds which are available from the Recreation fund.
