Major Upgrade Announced for Kaipātiki Sports Fields

The Kaipātiki Local Board has approved a substantial investment of over $2.6 million for upgrading sports and recreation facilities in the 25/26 financial year, aiming to enhance community usage year-round. Key upgrades include improved lighting and field renewals at Shepherds Park, Kaipātiki Park, Stafford Park, Onepoto Domain, and McFetridge Park. Notably, the upgrades at Shepherds Park, which will receive $550,000 for lighting improvements, have been lauded by the Birkenhead United Association football Club, addressing community demand and supporting active well-being. This is a major step forward for local sports facilities, fostering greater engagement and connection within the community.
