Orihuela Advances Eco-Friendly Tourism Initiatives with Innovative LED Lighting Scheme

Orihuela is advancing its Tourism Sustainability Plan with a new initiative to enhance energy efficiency in key coastal areas, including Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, and Campoamor. A contract valued at €6,897 has been awarded to ESTUDIOS Y PROYECTOS FRALOIR, S.L. for project management and safety coordination, funded by the EU’s Next Generation program. This project aims to replace traditional public lighting with low-consumption LED systems, significantly reducing energy use, lowering CO₂ emissions, and minimizing municipal costs, thereby promoting a greener approach to tourism.
