However, local law enforcement in Florida has issued a warning about the legal implications of this festive trend. Recently, a man was arrested in Opa-locka for driving a BMW decorated with Christmas lights, highlighting that Florida law prohibits flashy decorations, with the exception of turn signals. Police officials, like Mike Jachles from the West Palm Beach Police Department, emphasize the potential safety concerns associated with such distractions on the road, even if the law isn’t strictly enforced in certain areas. Additionally, drivers should be aware that specific colored lights, particularly red, white, and blue on the front of vehicles, are reserved for emergency use and could lead to legal trouble.
