Bettendorf City Council Greenlights Construction of Pedestrian Bridge Near Sports Complex

The Bettendorf City Council has approved an $11.7 million project to construct a new pedestrian bridge as part of the city’s expansion towards the TBK Bank sports Complex. The bridge will feature aesthetic, color-changing lighting and extend recreational trails across the Middle Road Corridor, connecting key areas of the city. Designed to echo the I-74 Bridge, the 1,000-foot structure will utilize a butterfly arch design supported by steel and concrete components. The project also includes necessary infrastructure work such as grading, storm sewer installation, and enhanced lighting. This initiative is part of the Community Improvement Program and signifies Bettendorf’s commitment to fostering growth and connectivity.
