Bowman Gray stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., is set for significant upgrades ahead of its hosting of The Clash in February 2025. The improvements include a state-of-the-art Musco LED lighting system designed to enhance track visibility and decrease energy use, featuring advanced special effects for customized light shows. Additional upgrades involve the installation of a steel and foam SAFER barrier and new catch fences to bolster safety. Funding for these enhancements is sourced from a pandemic recovery grant awarded to the city in 2022, part of the North Carolina Motorsports Relief initiative. Installation work will commence in December, with crews already removing the old guardrail system, aiming for completion by early January. NASCAR officials express optimism that these upgrades will showcase the historic venue as a premier destination for both national and grassroots racing events.
