The construction of the £60 million Greenheys lab and innovation hub at Manchester Science Park has reached a significant milestone with its “topping out” ceremony. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as the new headquarters for UK Biobank and will support businesses aiming to collaborate with the renowned biomedical research resource. Developed by Bruntwood SciTech, Greenheys will offer 131,000 square feet of versatile workspace and specialized lab facilities designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of scientific disciplines. With a target for net-zero construction and operation, the hub aims to foster innovation while promoting sustainability. Scheduled for completion in Summer 2026, it underscores Manchester’s commitment to becoming a leading center for research and technological advancement, enhancing partnerships within the academic and commercial sectors.
