Chinese Government Reveals Recipients of LED Lighting Subsidies

On August 24, the Chinese government announced the winners of financial subsidies for the 2012-2013 semiconductor lighting products promotion project following an open-bid competition featuring 113 companies. Five domestic firms—Kingsun, Lampearl Photoelectric, Yankon Lighting, Elec-Tech International, and Shanghai Yaming Lighting—secured subsidies for various indoor and outdoor LED lighting products. Among the few international competitors, Philips received funding for specific PAR lamps and street lamps, while Taiwan-based Delta Electronics was unsuccessful in its bid. Notably, Everlight’s joint venture with Shanghai Yaming may lead to future orders, and Epistar’s partnership with Yankon Lighting positions it for potential orders as well.
