Jefferson City is moving forward with plans for a “dark sky” ordinance aimed at regulating outdoor lighting to reduce light pollution and enhance sustainability. Additionally, the committee discussed a broader sustainability plan for Jefferson City, aimed at enhancing resilience against natural and human-made disasters and promoting environmentally friendly practices. Funding opportunities for these initiatives may arise from federal grants, which could support the city’s long-term goals for environmental sustainability.
