Clare Clubs and Organizations Celebrate €9 Million Boost from Sports Capital Funding

In a significant boost for local sports, €9 million has been distributed to 84 clubs and organizations across County Clare through the latest round of the Sports Capital Grants. This funding, part of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme, is aimed at enhancing and refurbishing sports facilities as well as providing necessary equipment. More than €7.3 million of this total has been allocated to 75 clubs for improvements such as astro-turf pitches, walking tracks, and floodlights. Key projects include nearly €480,000 for the GAA Centre of Excellence and funding for the Clare District soccer League to upgrade Frank Healy Park. Local politicians have emphasized the importance of this funding for promoting youth involvement and female participation in sports, highlighting the positive community impact of these investments.
