Collaboration Between SETI and Kyma Technologies Leads to Development of Low-Defect AlGaN Substrates

Sensor Electronic Technology, Inc. (SETI) has entered into a Joint Development Agreement with Kyma Technologies to advance the development of low defect AlGaN substrates and enhance the performance of optoelectronic and electronic devices. SETI plans to focus on creating next-generation high-efficiency Deep UV LEDs, targeting high-power applications such as water disinfection. As the sole commercial producer of Deep UV LEDs, SETI offers a product range from 240nm to 400nm, catering to various markets including sensing and instrumentation. The company recently achieved significant milestones, including high-power single-chip LEDs exceeding 30 mW, and has developed a prototype for a portable all-LED based water disinfection system through a National Science Foundation SBIR Phase I program.
