The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has partnered with OLEDWorks LLC to develop a groundbreaking OLED lighting prototype aimed at enhancing patient care in hospitals. This initiative supports Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Reforming the Energy Vision strategy, promoting energy innovation and efficiency. The prototype—which features white and amber lighting—will be tested at Highland Hospital, where healthcare professionals will provide feedback. Notably, amber OLEDs minimize blue light that disrupts sleep, potentially improving patient rest. Funded by a $100,645 grant from NYSERDA, the project aligns with New York’s energy efficiency goals and reflects the state’s commitment to fostering clean technology and economic growth. OLEDWorks, a leader in OLED solutions, aims to make energy-efficient lighting more affordable, supporting both healthcare and broader industry initiatives in the Finger Lakes region.
