Collaborators Commit to Boosting Health Innovations as £60 Million Greenheys Project Reaches Topping-Out Milestone

Bruntwood SciTech and Willmott Dixon are set to complete the new £60 million headquarters for UK Biobank at Manchester Science Park by summer 2026. Covering 131,000 sq ft, the facility will primarily support research and development operations, allowing UK Biobank to enhance its collection, storage, and provision of biological samples for health research. Professor Sir Rory Collins highlighted that the new site will expedite vital public health discoveries by facilitating quicker access to biological samples and health data from its participant pool. Notably, the Greenheys development will feature specialist CL2 lab spaces and advanced technical amenities, fostering collaboration between businesses and universities in the area. With a commitment to sustainability, the building aims for high energy performance and environmental ratings through initiatives like air source heat pumps and solar panels.
