UK-based Nanoco, a manufacturer of cadmium-free quantum dots (CFQD), has entered into a joint development agreement with a global LED lighting company to incorporate its advanced quantum dot technology into high-volume LED systems. Over the next 12 months, the partnership aims to explore further development opportunities or potentially launch products based on the innovative CFQD technology, which promises superior color performance for commercial LED lighting applications. Michael Edelman, Nanoco’s CEO, expressed optimism about the technology’s potential to enhance LED usage across various settings. This agreement follows Nanoco’s recent success in producing a significant shipment of red CFQD for a major Japanese client, securing a $2 million funding deal. Financial details of the current agreement have not been disclosed.
