Community Hearing Scheduled for May 6 on Athletic Field Lighting at Episcopal High School

Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA, seeks approval to install lighting on its athletic fields, a project expedited by the school’s selection as a training site for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2026. The initial phase includes lighting for the Track Field and Hummel Bowl, adhering to FIFA standards, with additional lights planned for soccer, baseball, softball, and tennis fields as part of a multi-year capital improvement initiative. Musco Lighting will handle the installation, using LED fixtures designed to minimize light pollution. A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for May 6, with the City Council set to review the plan on May 17.
