Community Spirit Shines Bright in West Wimmera Through Local Projects
A recent lighting upgrade at the Kaniva football oval has enhanced safety and usability for local sports clubs and the broader community. The $333,334 project involved the removal of outdated infrastructure and the installation of four new 150 lux LED lighting poles. Funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria, the West Wimmera Shire Council, and the Kaniva Leeor United Football Netball Club, this initiative aims to extend the hours for recreational activities. Cr Meyer celebrated the collaboration between the council and the community, highlighting the long-term benefits of improved lighting for both players and spectators.
