Kai Tak sports Park (KTSP), a transformative redevelopment of the former Kai Tak Airport site covering 28 hectares, is set to become Hong Kong’s premier destination for sports and leisure. At its center lies the state-of-the-art Kai Tak stadium, aptly dubbed the ‘Pearl of the Orient,’ boasting a capacity of 50,000 and featuring a retractable roof and flexible pitch surface. Developed by a consortium led by Kai Tak Sports Park Limited, with Arup providing multidisciplinary engineering services, the project incorporates numerous innovative designs unique to Hong Kong. KTSP is designed to bolster community engagement in sports, support elite athletes, and position Hong Kong as a hub for international sports events. In addition to the main stadium, the complex includes the indoor Kai Tak arena and the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, along with various retail, dining, and recreational amenities, symbolizing civic pride and enhancing the urban landscape.
