Connecticut Companies Receive Federal Energy Grants

Five Connecticut companies have been awarded a total of over $2 million in U.S. Department of Energy grants aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and lowering industrial emissions. This funding is part of the $14.8 million allocated through the Industrial Training and Assessment Centers Implementation Grants program, which supports small and medium-sized manufacturers across the nation. The projects funded include updates to compressed air systems, installation of onsite solar, and improvements to heating and lighting. Notable recipients include Beacon Industries, Talalay Global, and Gilman Brothers Company. The initiative, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is expected to help abate over 33,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, demonstrating a significant environmental impact while leveraging an additional $33.2 million from industry. Since its inception in 2022, the program has benefited 219 businesses nationwide, promoting sustainable practices across the manufacturing sector.
