Consortium Led by Honeywell to Investigate the Role of AI and Additive Manufacturing in Aerospace Parts Production

A consortium led by Honeywell has secured £14.1 million in funding from the UK Government for Project STRATA, aimed at enhancing the production of critical aerospace parts using AI and additive manufacturing. The initiative, which includes partners such as 3T Additive Manufacturing, BeyondMath, and the Oxford Thermofluids Institute, will focus on developing five innovative components for aircraft Environmental Control and Cabin Pressure Control Systems. Key objectives include improving aircraft efficiency, accelerating manufacturing processes, reducing emissions, and enhancing the UK’s aerospace supply chain. The project emphasizes collaboration between government and industry to maintain the UK’s leadership in advanced aerospace technologies.
