Consultancy Firm Selected to Assist in Development of Cumberland Sports Village in West Cumbria

Building services engineering consultancy PSA has been appointed to provide mechanical and electrical design for the £10.6 million Cumberland sports Village in Workington, which will serve as the new home for the Workington Reds football team and Workington Town rugby side. The project, funded by the Government, Cumberland Council, and the Football Foundation, involves demolishing the current Borough Park stadium to create a state-of-the-art facility designed for sustainability. Key features include a 3G pitch, enhanced spectator seating across several stands, hospitality suites, and advanced safety systems. With a planning application set to be submitted soon, construction is expected to begin early next year, aiming for a completion date by late summer 2027.
