Key provisions include requirements for downward-facing light fixtures, reduced brightness levels, warmer light temperatures, and recommendations for using lighting only when necessary. While the changes may not fully align with the more stringent standards set by DarkSky International, city officials view this as a significant first step toward preserving dark skies in the region and improving the city’s lighting practices.
