CREAL Secures $8.9 Million to Propel Advancements in AR and Vision Care Technology

CREAL, a Vaud-based innovator in light field display technology, has successfully raised $8.9 million in an equity funding round led by ZEISS, alongside contributions from the UBS private investor network and existing backers. The funds will propel the development of advanced visual display systems for augmented reality (AR) and vision care, enhancing user experience with more realistic, eye-friendly digital images. CREAL’s patented micro-display technology facilitates natural focusing, making it ideal for prolonged use in both AR and medical applications. The investment aims to advance partnerships with ZEISS for next-generation diagnostic devices and miniaturize AR modules for integration into lightweight glasses, benefiting both enterprise and consumer markets. With over $32 million raised to date, CREAL stands out in Western Switzerland’s tech landscape, highlighting the region’s strengths in AR and optics.
