Creating Your Dream Home Arcade: Chapter One

In celebration of his 40th birthday and a decade of Nintendo Wire, the creator embarks on an exciting journey to build the ultimate home arcade. He has designated a 12 by 6-foot space for this project, aiming to capture the nostalgic aesthetic of classic arcade carpets from the ’80s and ’90s. After opting for a vibrant rug from Joy Carpets, he enhances the ambiance with dynamic LED lighting, incorporating accent strips and a central ceiling fixture. The setup is further enriched by Mario posters and a custom Flynn’s Arcade sign. Although arcade cabinets haven’t been placed yet, the transformed space already exudes an arcade atmosphere. Future installments of the series will explore modern arcade cabinets, vintage machines, retail kiosks, and pinball setups.
