Raley’s Family of Fine Stores has embraced sustainability by implementing energy-efficient LED lighting from Cree, Inc. at its new petroleum station, car wash, and convenience store in South Lake Tahoe, California. This advanced lighting system not only enhances light quality but also significantly reduces energy consumption and maintenance costs, promising a payback within a year. Featuring 60 Cree LED luminaires, the installation surpasses the performance of traditional fluorescent and halogen fixtures used at other locations. Additionally, the system incorporates smart sensors that optimize energy use, ensuring compliance with California’s daylight control regulations. Raley’s energy manager, Randy Walthers, emphasized that this initiative aligns with their broader goal of decreasing energy consumption across their 128 locations.
