Dallas City Council member Gay Donnell Willis reported that the funds covered the costs for 71 police officers and vehicle operations over an eight-day period. While acknowledging the festive spirit of the homeowners, Willis expressed concerns about the strain on public safety resources and announced plans to assess regulations regarding home holiday displays. The viral home, located on Deloache Avenue, went so far as to attract attention from celebrity Snoop Dogg, but also faced neighborhood backlash, including a code violation notice for excessive light glare and noise. Despite initial tensions, the situation was resolved when homeowners adjusted the lights and music.
