Distinguished Awards Honors Researchers at UNSW

At the recent 2025 Measurement Awards, UNSW’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Professor Dane McCamey, and Senior Lecturer Dr. Charitha de Silva received top honors for their contributions to measurement science. Prof. McCamey was awarded the prestigious Barry Inglis Medal for his sustained contributions to Australian metrology, while Dr. de Silva earned the Measurement Achievement Encouragement Award for Early to Mid-career Achievements and the People’s Choice Award for his research in fluid dynamics. Announced during National Science Week, these awards spotlight the innovative measurement science emerging from Australian laboratories. UNSW’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bronwyn Fox, praised the winners’ exceptional talent and their significant impact on the nation’s research and innovation landscape.
