Driving Instructor Calls for Research on LED Light Glare

Driving instructor Gordon Sheehy from the South West School of Motoring is urging the Irish government to investigate the potential correlation between car crashes and the use of LED headlights, echoing concerns raised in the UK. Reports indicate that three-quarters of AA members in the UK have reported being blinded by dazzling headlights, raising safety concerns about modern lighting technology. While UK ministers maintain that evidence does not suggest that improved lighting is leading to more accidents, independent research on the topic is anticipated later this year. Sheehy believes that similar research should be conducted in Ireland by the government or the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to ensure driver safety.
