Dual Meteor Showers to Illuminate the Night Sky on Election Eve: A Spectacular ‘Fireball’ Show

As Election Day approaches, stargazers can expect to see spectacular meteor showers lighting up the night sky. The Southern Taurids meteor shower will peak on the night of November 5, coinciding with heightened visibility of bright fireballs. Following this, the Northern Taurids will peak on November 12. NASA has noted that this year’s showers may be especially active, with phenomena occurring throughout the fall and lasting until December 8. For optimal viewing, the best time to watch for these shooting stars is after midnight when the constellation Taurus is positioned high in the sky.
