Ahead of the highly anticipated Budget 2025 announcement, €9.3 million has been allocated to 114 sports clubs in County Wexford, significantly boosting community sports facilities and equipment. This funding, part of a larger €250 million national budget for sports, reflects a record investment for the area, as confirmed by Fianna Fáil Minister of State James Browne. Specific major grants include €373,841 for Ferrycarrig FC and €303,357 for Rathgarogue Community Co-operative Society. Other projects received substantial funding, such as €200,000 for the development of various GAA and soccer club facilities. Local leaders, including outgoing Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe, expressed their satisfaction, highlighting the vital role these sports clubs play in strengthening community ties.
