Efforts to Repair Lowestoft Street Lights Encounter Additional Setback

Lowestoft town councillor Wendy Brooks has voiced serious concerns regarding safety due to inadequate street lighting following a protest march she organized. She highlighted that the lack of illumination poses risks for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, particularly along St Peter’s Street where sudden darkness can lead to dangerous situations. Despite assurances from National Highways that necessary work would be completed by June, Brooks noted that no action has been taken, leading to two reported collisions attributed to the poor visibility. She expressed frustration over the two-year delay in addressing the issue, emphasizing the perilous nature of traveling along the A47 at night.
