The DesignLights Consortium (DLC) reports progress in narrowing the standards gap for LED light sources, proposing new pathways for the eligibility of very low correlated color temperatures (CCT) and Amber LED luminaires in both indoor and outdoor lighting categories. Draft 1 Technical Requirements aim to boost efficacy by an average of 15% while introducing specific criteria for turtle-friendly lighting solutions to protect nesting sea turtles. The proposed LUNA V2.0 will require compliance with additional spectral regulations, particularly concerning blue light emissions. The DLC is engaging stakeholders through public comment periods, with plans to finalize and implement these guidelines by January 2026. Comments on the Draft 1 are accepted until May 16, followed by a second draft expected in July.
